Boise’s most famous band is the big Volume headliner this year, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Built to Spill is fronted by primary songwriter Doug Martsch, the only consistent member in the band’s 25-year history, known for his high vocal register and clever, unpredictable guitar lines. BtS still tours regularly they played the Knit just last summer — and are still releasing albums (most recently Untethered Moon in 2015), but their classic material, on LPs like 1997’s Perfect from Now On and 1999’s Keep It Like a Secret, still holds up beautifully.
